What can I expect in a therapy session?

A session lasts 50 minutes. At times you may be asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records. For therapy to "work" you must be an active participant, both in and outside of the therapy sessions. 
 

 

What if I don't know what my goals are for therapy?

Your therapist will help you to identify appropriate goals. During the course of therapy your goals may change. However, establishing a direction for psychotherapy will help you get the most out of the experience. 
 

 

Do I really need therapy?

Only you know if you truly need the type of treatment therapy offers. What you can know is that Dunn Associates therapist's are able to ensure you expert care and will make you feel at ease with your decision to seek out therapy services.

 

 

How much does it cost?

What if someone finds out?  What will people think?

Dunn Assocaites facility is specifically designed to provide you with a private and confidential setting from our secluded parking lot to our private sound proof therapy rooms.  We value your confidentiality and will ensure that no one is aware of your treatment.  
 

 

 

What do I tell my child or teen? 

We recommend you are honest with your child and inform them that they will be meeting with somone who can help them and their family with the specific need you sought out treatment for.  
 

 

 

What do I tell my parents?

We suggest you show your parents this website and inform them that you would like some help.  It is a good idead to tell them a basic and brief summary of your feelings and struggles.  Often times just telling your parents you need someone to talk to is good enough.  Remember they were once teenagers and they know how difficult it can be at times.
