Heather completed her masters in Marriage and Family Counseling at Capella University. She also obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and Social Philosophy with a minor in Interdisciplinary Family Studies from Marquette University. She is a member of many organizations which include Psi Chi, Chi Sigma Iota, AAMFT, and Delta Kappa. Her focus is on military/veteran couples transitioning to post-service life and overcoming mental health challenges and physical injuries to reclaim intimate relationships, caregivers experiencing burnout, anxiety, and depression, and intimate partners seeking to strengthen their relationships. Heather also provides relationship counseling addressing communication, trust and intimacy. She is knowledgeable in sexual concerns such as performance anxiety, desire/libido discrepancies, and enhancing sexual satisfaction. Heather is a Poly/Consensual Non-monogamy Friendly, Sex Positive Therapist. Heather also provides individual counseling for anxiety, depression, and relationship stress, and self-esteem. She utilizes systemic perspectives and therapeutic approaches that focus on client strengths, knowledge, values, beliefs, and capabilities. The therapeutic approach is infused with hope and a view that the client’s experience is unique, blending together solution-focused strategies for practical skill development and philosophical concepts in the pursuit of deeper meaning.
